BOARDING POLICIES

  • Cats from the same family that are not allowed to eat the same food cannot board together.  It is not possible to separate them for feeding times.  You will need to book different condos for each cat.

  • If your cats are boarding together and start to fight, we must separate them into different condos (if available) and you will be charged full price for each condo.

  • PLAYTIME:  Although playtime is included with boarding, cats who become stressed or fractious while outside their condo will not be permitted into the playroom in order to keep them calm. Cats who are showing signs of any communicable disease (respiratory, intestinal, parasitic) will also not be permitted into the playroom.

  • Cats who are showing any signs of respiratory illnesses or diagnosed with a URI are not permitted to board at all.  If your cat becomes ill while boarding, you will be contacted immediately to discuss veterinary care and may have to be picked up.  Respiratory viruses are highly contagious and must be removed from the premises.

  • Cats who have ringworm are not permitted to board.

  • MEDICATED BOARDERS:  Although we have an experienced staff who can give your cat medications, sometimes cats may become too fractious and very difficult to give their prescriptions. We will do everything possible to provide this service, but we cannot guarantee they will receive it if it becomes too dangerous for the staff.  Last resort is to put into the food.  However, we cannot guarantee they will eat it. THIS INCLUDES INSULIN INJECTIONS AND GLUCOSE TESTING FOR DIABETIC CATS.

VACCINE REQUIREMENTS: MUST BE PROVIDED BY A LICENCED VETERINARIAN (NO HOME VACCINES ACCEPTED

  • FVRCP (FELINE DISTEMPER) (only waived with a written letter from a licensed veterinarian for health reasons)
  • RABIES, starting at 4 months of age (required by the Department of Agriculture and is a state law, regardless of age or health status)

ALL MALE CATS MUST BE NEUTERED BY 5 MONTHS OF AGE. Cats become reproductively active at 4 months.  They become territorial and begin to "mark" by spraying urine, causing strong TOM CAT odor and damage surfaces. PROOF OF NEUTER IS REQUIRED.

FLEAS:  If we notice fleas on your cat during boarding, we will give an oral Capstar to kill the fleas within 30 minutes.  This lasts 24-48 hours.  We will also bathe your cat (if they allow) and apply topical Cheristin, which will continue to kill the fleas and lasts for 1 month.  We will notify you if this occurs and the cost will be added to your bill.  Your cat will also not be permitted into the playroom for 48 hours to ensure we are not allowing an infestation to the resort or to other cats on the premises. FLEAS MAY NOT BE NOTICEBALE RIGHT AWAY AS THEY CAN HIDE VERY WELL. USUALLY, WE WILL SEE FLEA DIRT ON THEIR SHELVES AND BEDDING.

WHAT TO BRING:
